As part of the ongoing coordination of the Scientific Research Center with academic and scientific institutions to implement joint projects and activities, on May 22, 2025, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Samir Mustafa Hamad, Director of the Scientific Research Center, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Dr. Abdulwahab Suleiman, General Director of the Soran Autonomous Administration.

The purpose of this memorandum was to establish a framework of cooperation between both sides regarding joint scientific activities and projects, which in the coming years will be carried out in coordination between the two parties.

It is worth mentioning that this memorandum created an effective platform for cooperation between both parties so that science can serve the real needs of society. This gave the memorandum particular importance, as it laid the foundation for a new working model that facilitates the transition of scientific research from the theoretical stage to practical implementation. Furthermore, the memorandum outlined cooperation on developing a strategic plan for the protection and discovery of natural sites, organizing joint scientific activities to promote the advancement of expertise from both sides, and contributing to the development of environmental fields in the region.
