In recent decades, scientific research has become the foundation of educational endeavors, driving advances in science, industry, and the economy within an increasingly complex and competitive environment. This reality inspired the establishment of the Scientific Research Center at Soran University from its commencement.
In 2010, the center's goals, vision, and operational framework were formally outlined, and plans were made to secure the necessary resources for its establishment. After obtaining funding approval of over five million dollars, the program's implementation began in phases, including laboratory preparation and procurement of essential equipment and supplies. These activities were completed in 2014.
Today, the Scientific Research Center at Soran University stands as one of Kurdistan's leading research centers. It has pioneered research in fields previously unexplored throughout Iraq while fostering a collaborative culture to achieve its research objectives.
The Scientific Research Center at Soran University strives to establish a comprehensive research institution that provides innovative solutions across various fields, including nanotechnology, biomedical sciences, materials science, environmental studies, bio-geosciences, photochemistry, geographical information systems, remote sensing, and related disciplines.
