Molecular Laboratory

About Laboratory

The Molecular Lab is a dedicated facility focused on unraveling the complexities of life at the molecular level. We utilize cutting-edge technologies to conduct advanced diagnostics, research, and genetic studies that contribute to innovations in genetics, microbiology, and medicine. Our core activities include DNA and RNA extraction, DNA amplification through PCR, gel electrophoresis, and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Additionally, we have a proven track record of community service, having supported the people of Soran during the COVID-19 outbreak by providing rapid molecular testing and contributing to the frontline efforts against the pandemic.

Our Mission

To provide accurate and dependable molecular testing and research services, advancing healthcare and expanding scientific knowledge through innovative and sustainable technologies.

Our Vision

To emerge as a global leader in molecular science, fostering groundbreaking discoveries that drive progress in health, personalized medicine, and biotechnology, while maintaining a strong commitment to serving our local communities in times of need.

ELISA Microplate Reader

Sanger Sequencer

A machine used to determine the sequence of nucleotides (DNA or RNA) in a sample. It operates on the Sanger method of chain-termination sequencing, which uses labeled nucleotides to identify the order of bases in a DNA fragment. This sequencer is commonly used in genetic research and diagnostics.

Polymerase Chain Reaction

Real-Time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)

A laboratory technique used to amplify and simultaneously quantify a targeted DNA molecule. It enables the real-time monitoring of the amplification process through fluorescent dyes or probes. Real-Time PCR is widely used in gene expression analysis, viral load quantification, and mutation detection.

(Polymerase Chain Reaction)

PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)

A technique used to amplify small segments of DNA, creating millions of copies of a specific region. It involves repeated cycles of denaturation, annealing, and extension, and is essential in molecular biology for cloning, genetic analysis, and diagnostics.

Gel Electrophoresis

Gel Electrophoresis

A method used to separate DNA, RNA, or proteins based on size and charge. The sample is loaded into a gel matrix, and an electric field is applied, causing molecules to migrate. Smaller molecules move faster, allowing for analysis of molecular size and identification.

Plate Centrifuge

Plate Centrifuge

A type of centrifuge designed to accommodate multi-well plates, commonly used in biochemical and clinical laboratories. It rapidly spins samples in the wells of plates to separate components by density, such as separating plasma from blood cells or isolating cell debris from culture media.
