What They See, What They Say: The Everyday Life of the Migrant; “The Other”
This is the title of a scientific research study conducted by Dr. Chra Rashid Mahmud, a researcher and member of the Scientific Board at the Genocide, Gender, and Social Research Center of Soran University.
The study sheds light on the experiences of Kurdish migrants from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq living in the United Kingdom, and how they confront and negotiate the notion of “the Other” — in the sense of being unacknowledged or marginalized — which directly impacts the everyday life of Kurdish immigrants in the diaspora.
It is worth noting that the study has been published in the high-ranking journal Social Science and Humanities Open (CiteScore 4.8), which is part of Elsevier.
