The seminar was presented by Dr. Sherko Kermanj, a researcher, author, and expert in the field of international relations, under the title:

“A Nationalist Reading of Kurdistan’s School Textbooks: Inclusion and Exclusion in Terms of Ethnicity, Religion, and Gender.”

During the seminar, emphasis was placed on both inclusion and exclusion in the content and curriculum of educational textbooks in the Kurdistan Region, within a framework of in-depth research and critical analysis supported by extensive data and evidence. The discussion highlighted:
• The necessity of reviewing and reassessing school textbooks to ensure they receive greater attention and revisions.
• The significance of inclusivity in promoting social peace and intergroup relations among different religious and ethnic groups in Kurdistan.
• The implications of exclusion, as it can lead to marginalization and the weakening of intergroup connections, ultimately affecting social harmony and interfaith relations.

The seminar concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of educational reform to enhance mutual understanding and coexistence among Kurdistan’s diverse communities.
